WSOP /ESPN 40k buy in event, Pokerdog283 review! Like most of you I watched the ESPN coverage of the 40k buy in NL Holdem event. Quite pleased with Lon Macheron and the comedy stilings of Norman Chad. Both seemed to have really worked on theyre announcing and Norman only made 2 or 3 ex wife references. The WSOP trivia game was a neat idea and at no point did Lon Macheron seem as though he wanted to throw Norman Chad through a window! ( I could watch the Isabelle Mercier Pokerstars commercials all day!!!)Greg Raymer continued to show why he is one of the best ambassadors for Poker and had a nice 3rd place finish in a field of 201 of Pokers finest players. He eventally went out when his 55 didn’t improve over Haxtons 99! Oh yeah don’t forget Raymer was multi tabling as he was also in the champions event!! Then it was a wild Heads Up battle between Haxton and Vitaly Lunkin. A crazy hand was Lunkin’s AA beat by Haxton K 10 off when a K fell on the flop and Haxton “one timed†the river with a huge 10!!! Really whats wrong with saying †one Time†everytime especially if it helps?? Then the end finally came when Issac Haxton had 83off and once again Lunkin had AA an eight fell on the flop but Lunkin’s Aces held to win 1.9 million and the first bracelet of 2009 in this historical 40k event! Vitaly Lunkin FullTilt Player And this is only one dogs perspective!! Pokerdog283
Delaware gets it, thats why its the first state!! Recently got back from a week at the beach in Delaware and saw that Delaware now has a legal poker room at the beach. Seemed a well run place called “Poker at the Beach†really nice place in Rehoboth Beach nice tables and room even includes volunteer( work for tips) dealers!! With the Dealers it actually has a classy Las Vegas or Atlantic City poker room feel! The other Poker room is in Newark, DE called “The Poker Room“.I have played there and its also well run with a great group of players and nice SNG and large MTTs, So if you are in the Delaware area and looking for nice places to play GL and have fun. I would like to say to the state of Maryland where I live †WTF???†More possible fund raising opportunities for local charities will now see those dollars driving to DE to support DE charities!! “WTUF!!!†(U=uber) Of course this only one dogs opinion! Okay Okay. I will give credit where credit is due. Lon Macheron and Norman Chad are doing a great job broadcasting this event. Its possible that its due to not being over exposed over the several TV events hosted at the WSOP. Norman actually sounds like a broadcaster and not an idiot and on several occassions Lon is stepping up and doesn’t sound like he is being bullied or annoyed by Norman Chad. Soon is the final table coverage and its actually been fun to watch so far especially Daniel Negreneau’s low suited connector action. I always enjoy watching Juanda play and those agressive Russian players are quickly becoming well known around the circuit.
Hopefully this exciting action will continue on the last 2 episodes of the final table of the WSOP Europe!!
I just returned from another trip to Atlantic City,NJ. My wife and I once again stayed at Ceasars casino. We had a great time and ate at The Melting Pot Resturaunt it is a great fondue place a block up from Ceasars and of course Boudakan the fantastic asian cuisine restuarant located in the Ceasars shops.
the badbeat Jackpot was up to $94000.00 so my goal was to play as long as I could in hopes of being in the hand or atleast at the table the badbeat would take place. I had a late night with my wife playing over at Tropicana 8 rum and cokes later I decided not to play poker untill after a nap!
I finally got to the poker room around 300am and found a friendly table of 2/4 limit holdem and bought in for $100. played untill about 600am when the table broke and we had to move to a 1/2 NL game.
I was up to about $250 so it was okay. 3rd hand I had rockets and was pleased when a low stack about $75 shoved all in with QQ pre flop. Aces held and now Im ready to play some cards. Mostly back and forth action all night then a scrappy bully came to the table and reraised my raises and started to eat at my stack. I was card dead for the next hour and my stack lessened and lessened when every time I raised I was pushed off the hand when I couldnt connect to a flop. The next hour was about the same and my chips had slipped to around $240 when I woke up with a hand KK I raise to $25 and somehow get 3 callers. Flop is 249 rainbow and I raise to $30 after two checks this time I get 2 calls. Turn is J heart . Raise to $50 and a fold I move to $80. Player reraises all in of $30 more I call and he hits the heart on the river for a nut flush. I congratulate the idiot for his great catch and steam for the next three hands. OUCH!!
Alot of folding here and nothing more for another hour then I get QQ in the BB and raise to $20 only player is my friend the Bully and he re raises to $50. I put him on a marginal hand I think his favorite J10 off and I shove all in about $65 more he insta calls with AA and Im trying to decide if 10am is too early for a cocktail. QQ of course doesn’t improve and I go back to the room for another nap.
The rest of my playing was un eventful back in forth 2/4 limit trying to catch the badbeat Jackpot and the only jackpot I saw was in a shop window leaving AC as the owner was building a ST Patricks Day display!
If anyone is interested in Atlantic City and the upcoming WSOP Circuit events I have posted some info here!!

I just arived home from a great weekend at Atlantic City. My wife and I stayed at Ceasars we received a comp offer for a free room for the weekend. Great room spacious and had one of those cool TVs that is in the bathroom mirror. I won $170.00 playing 2/4 limit holdem ( no foldem holdem) Friday night. I really enjoy the cardroom at Cesars and enjoy playing 2/4 limit because they have a bad beat jackpot. The following night I was up another $100.00 playing limit , then the table broke and I played 1/2 No limit and picked up another $150.00. It was getting late ( 130am) so I started up to the room and on the second level of the casino I stopped by and watched a few hands of texas holdem bonus. This is a table game where you play against the dealer however you can win a bonus based on your hole cards. I played about 10 hands with $5 on the bonus when I was dealt (boom) AA for 30x my bonus bet. That along with beating the dealer was $200.00 for the hand( Thanks Ceasars!) I colored out my chips hit the cashier cage and went back to my room a winner on the day!! I did get alot of compliments on my BET US gear and even picked up a few new readers for my blog!
If you are planning a trip to Atlantic city I always reccomend Harrahs or Ceasars or any of the Harrahs brand of properties. Also if you are going to play poker all of their rooms offer a Badbeat Jackpot and for additional poker tips click here.
